In just 8 seconds, your computer can full starts up using the still to be release Windows 8. If the 8 second (cold) boot-up time is base on real-world test then it may even be faster than the Macbook Air. Of course there are still a number of factors to be considered here, like computer configuration, startup programs, etc. But Windows 8 is starting to an interesting and powerful OS, specially if you have seen the Windows 8 UI demoed.

Looks like Microsoft will (soon) formally announce the upcoming version (update) of their mobile OS, they just posted the intro video of Windows Phone 7.5 a.k.a. "Mango" in the Windows Phone Youtube channel. The video features all the upcoming features that where not in the original release of Windows Phone 7, like the enhanced and sleek Metro UI, threaded conversation, instant messaging, START screen and mobile version of IE 9.0.

It appears that Microsoft wants you to really abuse and hack kinect to your hearts desire, since they just released Kinect for Windows SDK Beta. The free beta SDK which is for noncommercial applications and encourages coders around the world to create an application that will take advantage of kinect's depth sensing, human motion tracking, and voice and object recognition technology on Windows 7.
